Well, here's another anecdote although it doesn't fit into the context of your meeting. Just returned from the Pennsylvania Avenue SE branch where I went to renew my car registration.

Clerk: Your inspection expired last October.

Me: No, that can't be right. The sticker on the car states October 2004.

Clerk: The computer is showing October 2003

Clerk makes phone call to "inspections". On hold for at least 10 minutes.

Me: standing there like a lost soul

Some group of guys behind me making wise ass remarks and guffawing.

Clerk: Bla bla bla bla on the phone

Me: Staring at the wall while my blood pressure rises

Outcome: Couldn't renew my registration because everying is not 'in order'.

Suggestion: Drive my car into the motor vehicle department so the ninnies can see for themselves what the dat on the sticker reads.

Thought: Considering I park my car on the street all the time and have received about a half dozen parking tickets (some waived), doesn't it occur to DMV that an outdated inspection sticker surely would have been noticed by now???

Thank you.
